MARK DANTONIO has signed a letter of intent...err, contract...to coach the Michigan State football team. A reader points out this article at StateNews, which notes that Dantonio's experience recruiting in Michigan and Ohio (he coached at the University of Cincinnati for the past three years) is a bonus. Dantonio was an MSU assistant 1995-2000.
MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo was part of the search, but I'm still not clear about this talk that he was considered for the football job. That just seems insane. Last week Lynn Henning agreed.
