THIS EVENING I HEARD QUIET RIOT'S 'METAL HEALTH' on 96.1 Max FM tonight. What's that all about?

You can expect anything on MaxFM, thats why I don't listen to it.
Skip Essick must be in his second childhood allowing one of his stations to play AC/DC, Disco, and Bob Marley back to back. Then too its computerized so its cheaper.
The Thomas: I don't listen to much radio (we were driving my wife's car) but I think she usually listens to 96.1. Actually, most of what we heard was good...just kind of all over the board. I wonder if they've just got Winamp plugged into the transmitter and have it set to 'Random'...
It is something like Winamp, but more a radio station version.
Radio stations can't just pump tunes over the airwaves.
Their system must also produce a log of the tunes played so that BMI/ASCAP can forward the correct amounts of royalties to the artists. The system must also log commercials (proof that they were played) so that the station's accounting department can charge the advertisers.
